Future Family Lab

The divorce decree is signed. Real life is harder than the paperwork.

Future Family Lab helps families navigate what comes after the agreement, when the plan on paper and the life being lived no longer match. The goal isn't to relitigate the past. It's to help the arrangement work for the people living inside it.

Why this exists

A divorce agreement on paper and a divorce agreement in practice are two different things.

What looks workable in mediation can be harder to live with than either party expected.

One person doesn't keep their end of the bargain. The kids push back against the schedule. A new relationship shifts the balance at home. Old patterns resurface. Small disagreements escalate.

And suddenly the family is heading back toward conflict, or back toward court.

That's the moment Future Family Lab was built for.

I created it because I kept watching families finish mediation strong, only to struggle once real life set in.

They didn't need to redo the agreement. They needed a place to come when reality didn't match the plan, to get things back on track before small problems became court-sized ones.

Who this is for

Future Family Lab works for families navigating what happens after the divorce.

Implementation breakdowns. The parenting schedule isn't working, one parent isn't honoring the terms, or exchanges keep going sideways.

Kids who are struggling — with the schedule, with one or both households, or with the transition itself.

A changing social dynamic. A new partner, a serious relationship, a remarriage, or a step-parent entering the picture.

A child pulling away from one parent — especially the kind of slow drift that can be addressed before it hardens.

Communication that's quietly collapsing. The texts are sharper, cooperation is thinning, and you can feel where it's heading.

Modifications worth thinking through before lawyering up: schedule changes, support adjustments, or relocation. A place to get clear before you bring it to an attorney, not instead of one.

You don't need to have mediated with me to use Future Family Lab. Families who divorced through litigation, or through other mediators, are welcome.

When Future Family Lab may not be the right fit

This work isn't the right starting point when there's abuse or coercive control, or when one parent's safety is at risk. In those situations, what you need is protection, not strategy, and the next step is a different kind of support. If you're unsure, reach out before booking and we'll figure that out first.

10 Questions  ·  A Few Minutes  ·  No Email Required

Structured questions. No pressure. Completely private.

This quiz is a structured way to think through what's happening in your family right now. It isn't a diagnosis, an intake form, or a commitment to anything. It doesn't require your email, and your answers aren't saved to a profile or shared.

If your situation involves abuse or coercive control, or you feel unsafe with your co-parent, this quiz isn't the right starting point, and Future Family Lab may not be the right kind of support. Please reach out directly so we can talk through safer options first. If you're in immediate danger, contact 911 or the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233.

What we actually do

Solution-focused. Strategy-driven. Built around what's happening now.

We're not unpacking the marriage. We're not relitigating who was right.

We're looking at what's in front of you and building a concrete plan to address it.

You walk away with something you can act on that week. A clear plan, not just a conversation.

Ideally, both parents take part. But if your co-parent isn't ready, that doesn't have to stop you. I work with the parent who's willing to move things forward, building a strategy you can carry into the situation even if you're starting it on your own.

Future Family Lab is structured support and strategic guidance, not therapy, and not legal advice. I work alongside your other professionals, never in place of them.

What's breaking down

Naming the specific patterns, not just the symptoms.

What each parent is willing to do

Practical commitments, not aspirational ones.

A concrete plan for change

What changes, when, and how we'll know it's working.

Built-in checkpoints

So we can adjust before drift turns into crisis.

How it works structurally

Future Family Lab flexes to what your situation needs.

You can start one way and shift to the other as things change. The right structure is the one that matches what you're living with.

We'll talk through which structure fits, and the rate, on your first call.

Pay-as-you-go

The same structure as my mediation work. You reach out when something isn't working, we meet, you go back to your life. Best for families who need help around specific moments.

Membership

Ongoing support for families who need steady structure, not just occasional check-ins.

Some situations aren't one-conversation problems. A high-conflict co-parent, a contentious schedule, a child drifting from a parent — these need steady attention over months, not a single meeting. Membership gives you that: regular sessions and between-session access, so you're not starting from zero every time something flares up.

Each month includes:

  • Two sessions (60–90 minutes each) — one parent, both parents, or shuttle format
  • Between-session messaging for the moments that can't wait
  • Priority scheduling

Starts at $595/month. Month-to-month — stay as long as it's useful, step away when things settle, come back if they shift again. No long-term contract.

Often more cost-effective than booking hourly, and built for the situations that don't resolve in one sitting.

Sessions can include

Whatever configuration helps the family system shift.

The work is shaped around the people involved, the level of conflict, and what needs to change.

One parent alone
Both parents together
Both parents in shuttle format
A parent and a new partner
