Terms of Service  ·  Introduction

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using this website or any services offered by Mediation and Beyond. By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use this website.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and clients who access or use the website located at mediationandbeyond.com and any related services, content, or tools offered by Mediation and Beyond and Colleen O'Neil.

Section 01

Nature of Services

Mediation and Beyond provides divorce mediation, strategic divorce support, co-parenting support, and related family dispute resolution services in the State of Connecticut. All services are provided by Colleen O'Neil, a divorce mediator.

Colleen O'Neil is a mediator, not an attorney. Nothing on this website, and nothing communicated in any consultation, meeting, or written material, constitutes legal advice. You are encouraged to consult with a licensed attorney to review any agreements reached through mediation before signing.

Mediation and Beyond does not represent either party in any legal proceeding. Engaging in mediation services does not create an attorney-client relationship of any kind.

Section 02

No Legal Advice

All content on this website, including articles, descriptions, FAQs, quiz results, and any other materials, is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice, legal representation, or a professional opinion about any specific legal matter.

You should not rely on any content from this website as a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney. Laws and legal requirements vary by jurisdiction and change over time. Mediation and Beyond makes no representations about the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of any legal information presented on this site.

Section 03

No Professional Relationship

Visiting this website, submitting a contact form, completing a quiz, or requesting a first conversation does not create a mediator-client relationship, attorney-client relationship, therapist-client relationship, or any other professional relationship between you and Mediation and Beyond or Colleen O'Neil.

A professional relationship is only established upon execution of a signed engagement letter or service agreement.

Section 04

Confidentiality and Your Information

Mediation meetings conducted by Mediation and Beyond are confidential as provided under applicable Connecticut law and the terms of the engagement letter signed by all parties at the commencement of services. Confidentiality obligations and their limits will be explained in full before services begin.

Information you submit through this website, including contact forms and the first conversation request, is collected and used as described in our Privacy Policy.

Section 05

Quizzes and Assessment Tools

The quizzes available on this website are provided for general informational purposes only. They are automated tools that generate results based solely on your responses to a series of questions. Results are not reviewed, evaluated, or interpreted by Colleen O'Neil or any other professional.

Quiz results do not constitute a professional assessment, recommendation, diagnosis, or opinion of any kind. They should not be relied upon in place of consultation with a licensed attorney, mental health professional, or qualified mediator.

By completing any quiz on this website, you acknowledge that results are informational in nature and that you will seek appropriate professional guidance before making any legal, financial, or personal decisions related to your situation.

Section 06

Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including but not limited to text, design, graphics, logos, copy, and structural elements, is the property of Mediation and Beyond and Colleen O'Neil and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, republish, display, or create derivative works from any content on this website without prior written permission from Mediation and Beyond.

Section 07

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Mediation and Beyond and Colleen O'Neil shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of this website, any content on this website, or any services provided by Mediation and Beyond.

This includes but is not limited to damages for loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, service interruption, or the cost of substitute services, even if Mediation and Beyond has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

In no event shall the total liability of Mediation and Beyond to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the use of this website exceed the amount paid by you, if any, for accessing or using this website in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Section 08

Disclaimer of Warranties

This website and all content and services provided through it are offered on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Mediation and Beyond does not warrant that this website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You assume full responsibility for your use of this website.

Section 09

Third-Party Links

This website may contain links to third-party websites, including scheduling tools, external resources, and professional organizations. These links are provided for convenience only. Mediation and Beyond does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party website.

Your use of any third-party website is governed by that site's own terms and policies.

Section 10

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of this website shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Connecticut.

Section 11

Changes to These Terms

Mediation and Beyond reserves the right to update or modify these Terms of Service at any time without prior notice. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this website. The date at the top of this page reflects when these Terms were last updated.

Your continued use of this website following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

Section 12

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed severable from the remaining Terms and shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remaining provisions.

Section 13

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with the Privacy Policy and any signed engagement letters or service agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and Mediation and Beyond with respect to your use of this website and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties.

Mediation and Beyond  ·  Effective Date: July 22, 2026  ·  Last Updated: July 22, 2026

Privacy Policy  ·  Introduction

Your privacy matters here — it's part of how I work. This policy explains, in plain language, what this website collects, why, and what I do and don't do with it. If anything here is unclear, reach out and I'll explain it directly.

Section 01

Who This Applies To

This policy covers mediationandbeyond.com, operated by Mediation and Beyond, LLC and Colleen O'Neil. It explains how information is handled when you use this website.

Section 02

What I Collect

Information you give me directly:

  • When you fill out a contact form or request a first conversation: your name, email address, phone number if you choose to provide it, and anything you write in your message.

The quizzes on this site do not require or collect your email address, and your quiz answers are not saved to a profile or shared.

Information collected automatically: like most websites, this site may collect basic, non-identifying usage information, such as which pages are visited and the general type of device or browser used, through standard website analytics, to understand how the site is used and improve it.

Section 03

Why I Collect It

I collect it for a few clear reasons:

  • To respond to your inquiry and schedule a first conversation.
  • To understand how the website is used so I can improve it.

I do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and I do not use it for any purpose you wouldn't reasonably expect from the list above.

Section 04

What I Will Never Do

I will never sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone.

I will never share your information with outside parties, except the service providers that help run this website and handle scheduling (described in Section 05), who are permitted to use it only to provide those services to me.

Section 05

Service Providers

This website relies on a small number of trusted service providers — for example, the website platform that hosts the site and the scheduling tool used to book a first conversation. Each maintains its own privacy practices. These providers may process your information only as needed to provide their service, and not for their own marketing.

Section 06

Cookies and Analytics

This website may use cookies or similar technologies to help the site function and to gather the basic usage information described in Section 02. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work as well if you do. If analytics are used, they are for understanding site usage in aggregate, not for identifying you personally.

Section 07

How Long I Keep It

I keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose you provided it — to respond to you or as required for ordinary record-keeping. You can ask me to delete your information at any time, and I will do so unless I'm required to keep it.

Section 08

Your Choices and Rights

You can ask me what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. To make any of these requests, just contact me using the details below.

Section 09

Children's Privacy

This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this site, please contact me and I will remove it.

Section 10

Security

I take reasonable measures to protect the information collected through this website. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, however, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

Section 11

Changes to This Policy

I may update this policy from time to time. Any changes take effect when posted to this website, and the date at the top reflects the most recent update. I encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Section 12

Contact

If you have any questions about this policy or about how your information is handled, you can reach me directly at Colleen@ColleenONeil.com or 203-232-5102.
